Bethesda has officially detailed Legacy Seasons, a major new feature launching alongside "The Slasher" update on September 15, 2026. Designed to combat seasonal FOMO, this system allows players to unlock rewards from past seasons they may have missed while simultaneously progressing through the active current season.

Fallout 76 - Legacy Seasons
How Legacy Seasons Work
- Shared Ticket Pool: Legacy Seasons do not require a new currency. Players use the exact same tickets earned from standard Daily and Weekly challenges for both active and legacy reward tracks.
- Linear Progress: Unlike current seasons, Legacy Season rewards must be unlocked linearly, step-by-step.
- Instant Unlocks for Veterans: Any reward you previously unlocked (or bought via the Atomic Shop) is automatically marked as claimed, letting you skip directly to unclaimed items.
- Fresh Items Included: Legacy Seasons aren't just copy-pastes; Bethesda is adding a few brand-new rewards to the legacy tracks.
- Original Game Boards: To preserve the prestige of veteran players who were there during the initial release, original physical gameboard rewards will remain exclusive to original participants.
Community Vote Announced for Winter Legacy Season
The first returning season is Armor Ace and the Power Patrol in Cold Steel. However, Bethesda is letting the community vote on which season returns next during the Winter update.
Players can cast their votes on the official Bethesda Discord or the Fallout 76 Subreddit between August 18 and August 21, 2026. The winning Legacy Season will be officially announced on August 25.
