Fallout 76: Tests Open For Pet Leveling and Companion Passives

Fallout 76 has officially reopened its Public Test Server - playfully dubbed the "Pspsps-TS" - to test a major overhaul that turns C.A.M.P. pets into full-time wasteland companions.

Players can now summon a Dog, Cat, Radhog, or Deathclaw directly from their Pip-Boy or Command wheel to fight, stay, or protect alongside them across Appalachia.

Pet Leveling & Account Progression

• Species-Wide Leveling: Pets earn XP as you fight alongside them, capping at Level 200. Progress is shared per species - leveling up a German Shepherd automatically levels all other dogs in your collection.
• Milestone Rewards: Ranking up your pets unlocks HP and damage boosts, increased player carry capacity, Atoms, Caps, Player Titles, and enhanced passive buffs.

Species-Specific Passives

Each pet species features two unique passive buffs that unlock at Levels 5 and 20, scaling up at Levels 40, 60, 85, and 120:

• Dogs: Fetch Diluted Stimpaks and sniff out extra Legendary gear (up to 3★) during Grunt Hunts.
• Cats: Find Improved Bait and award bonus Fish Bits while fishing.
• Radhogs: Gather Toxic-Goo and collect High-Radiation Fluids inside Nuke Zones.
• Deathclaws: Mine Black Titanium and dig up extra Legendary items (up to 3★) during Infestations.

Combat & Quality of Life Tweaks

• V.A.T.S. Improvements: Companions no longer block V.A.T.S. shots. All gunfire passes cleanly through pets with zero damage to the animal or penalty to your hit chance.
• Ping System Command: Players can now use the in-game Ping system to directly target specific enemies for their pet to attack.

Platform Availability

The Pspsps-TS is currently live for all PC players on Steam. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 PTS support will follow in a few weeks as Bethesda prepares for the launch of The Slasher update on September 15.
