Fallout 76: The Slasher Update Unveils Multi-Week Pint-Sized Terror

Bethesda has released a new developer overview for Fallout 76, featuring Creative Director Jon Rush breaking down the game's upcoming horror-themed fall update, The Slasher.

A Legendary Killer Reborn

Fallout fans will recognize the legend of the Pint-Sized Slasher, the infamous pre-War serial killer. In this update, a string of mysterious murders carrying the exact same gruesome signature has shaken Appalachia. A group of conspiracy hunters has arrived in town to prove whether the legend is real, while a dangerous cult of fanatics drawn to the Slasher’s lore begins sewing chaos across the wasteland.

Weekly Emergency Broadcasts & Investigation

Unlike standard single-drop events, The Slasher story unfolds over several weeks:

• Emergency Broadcasts: Players must tune in weekly to in-game breaking news radio transmissions for critical plot updates and target locations.
• Investigative Gameplay: Content includes tracking down clues, uncovering unmarked graves, clearing out cultist infestations, and tackling new Daily Ops challenges.

Final Showdown & Event Rewards

Wastelanders who piece together the mystery and survive the multi-week campaign's final confrontation will earn exclusive seasonal gear, including a brand-new Power Armor set and a heavy-hitting Auto Axe weapon skin.

The Slasher update launches alongside Season 26: Beware the Blood Moon on September 15.
