Gears of War: E-Day: What Content Is Coming Up?

Gears of War: E-Day is currently available in Early Access, with the full global launch taking place on October 6. The Coalition has laid out a multi-season post-launch roadmap to keep the multiplayer and co-op battlegrounds active.

Season 1: Emergence

What can we expect from Season 1: Emergence?

Season 1 kicks off at launch with all base maps, modes, and cosmetics, along with three limited-time themed events - Halloween, 20 Years of Gears, and Thanksgibbing. Each event spans two weeks and features a unique Versus Event mode, a Horde Siege Event mission, and exclusive themed rewards.

Key details for Season 1 include:

• Versus Ranked Launch: Launches October 13 - one week after the main game release - giving players time to learn the maps and weapons before diving into competitive play.
• Weekly Challenges: The initial set of challenges available to Early Access players on October 1 will be identical to those accessible at the main launch on October 6. Weekly challenges will refresh every Tuesday, starting October 13.
• In-Game Shop: Store inventory rotates every Tuesday and features free weekly gifts.
• Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle: 100% of net revenue from the Never Fight Alone Year 5 bundle (featuring an exclusive character skin, weapon skin set, and the Legacy set) goes directly to Crisis Text Line to support suicide prevention.
• Partnership Items: Promotional cosmetics from limited-time partnerships will eventually become available in the Barracks using in-game Coins and Iron once exclusivity periods end.
• Gears of War: Reloaded Cross-Rewards: Players can unlock exclusive cosmetics in E-Day by completing Xbox Achievements in Gears of War: Reloaded:
  • Fire and Fenix Pose: Unlocked by completing the "Prison Breakout" achievement.
  • Old Guard Medal & "Locked n' Reloaded" Title: Unlocked by completing the "Re-Up" achievement.

Season 1 is live right now with Early Access and continues through the full launch on October 6.

Season 1 runs for 8 weeks and concludes on December 1.

Season 2: Legacy

What can we expect from Season 2: Legacy?

Season 2 is built as a love letter to the franchise and its community, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Gears of War with content inspired by the series' most iconic moments. The Coalition is kicking off the celebration early by giving a special birthday gift to all E-Day players on November 7 - the exact date of the franchise's 20th Anniversary.

Season 2 also introduces the reward suite for the fan-favorite "Seriously" achievement, renamed Dead Serious in E-Day. Players who complete this challenge will unlock an exclusive Medal, Player Title, Banner, Emblem, Icon, and - for the first time in franchise history - a Legendary Character skin, which debuts at the start of Season 2.

When is it available?

The 20th Anniversary celebrations begin on November 7, with the full Season 2 content suite launching following the conclusion of Season 1.

When does Season 2 end?

The Coalition has not yet confirmed the end date for Season 2, noting that season lengths may vary across the post-launch lifecycle.

Beyond Season 2: Future Seasons

The Coalition has confirmed at least five post-launch seasons planned for Gears of War: E-Day. While gameplay details for later updates are under wraps, the official names for the upcoming seasons are:
