Palworld 1.0: Your Weekly Guide
Palworld 1.0 is finally here. While a lot has changed, the core experience remains.
I’ve started a fresh playthrough to document what works and what doesn't. Join me as I share my progress and lessons learned every Wednesday.
Missions are everything
The best advice from Early Access remains true in 1.0: do not wander off. Palworld drops you into a vast open world with minimal guidance. Your first instinct might be to explore and hunt for Pals immediately, but if you stray too far without a plan, you’ll quickly hit a wall.
Pay close attention to the tutorial and main missions in the top-right corner. These guide you through building a workbench, spending technology points, crafting tools, and catching your first Pals. Following this path unlocks the Palbox, the heart of your base. Completing the subsequent Base Missions is the fastest way to level up and earn essential rewards.

Palworld 1.0 Main and Sub Missions
Palworld 1.0 also has some nice submissions, which I haven't tried yet. I will dive into those the coming days.
Find Daedreams early
Don't rely too heavily on your Early Access knowledge; spawn locations have been shuffled. I wasted time searching for specific Pals in their old haunts, only to find they’d migrated elsewhere. However, one early-game powerhouse remains easy to find: the Daedream.

Wait until nightfall to find them. Catch five as soon as you can. Daedreams are unique because, when in your party, they automatically appear alongside you to attack whatever you are fighting. More importantly, they are excellent for capturing: they won't reduce a target's health below 1 HP, making it much easier to catch new Pals without accidentally defeating them.
Catching bonus: XP boost capped at 5
Early Access players will remember the XP boost for catching multiple copies of the same Pal. That mechanic is still here, but it has been rebalanced: the bonus now caps at 5 captures instead of 12. This is a welcome change; it’s less tedious while still rewarding you for catching lower-tier Pals. Make sure to catch five of everything you see to level up efficiently.

Choose your base location wisely
Don’t stress too much about your first base, but be strategic with your second. Once you reach base level 8, you can build a second base. By then, you’ll have better technology and a clearer idea of your needs.
Always look for a spot with ore deposits. Since you cannot build a machine to farm ore, you must build your base directly on top of those large, shiny, copper-colored rocks to ensure a steady supply. Also, ensure the terrain is flat enough for structures and that you have enough space for Straw Pal Beds (one for every Pal).

The Monitoring Stand
If you’re a micromanager, the Monitoring Stand is a dream come true. I highly recommend spending your technology points on this gadget early on. It allows you to restrict specific tasks for your Pals and manually assign them to facilities. It’s the ultimate tool for keeping your base running smoothly, though you should still check each Pal's individual skills and stats to optimize their output.

QoL Tip: Toggle interactions
For my entire time in Early Access, I held down the interaction button for every task. I only just discovered you can change this in the settings! Look for the option: ‘Single button press for hold interactions.’ It is a small adjustment, but it saves so much wear and tear on your fingers. I’m still trying to unlearn the habit, but it’s a total game-changer.
